Sabah – This second largest state of Malaysia is located on the northern tip of Borneo Island, 1570 km east of Kuala Lumpur. Its geographical location makes it wealthy of diverse flora and fauna along with the dense rainforests. Kota Kinabalu is the state’s capital. Trekking on Mt. Kota Bharu – It is in the north east corner of Malaysia and is the center of Kelantan, very strict Muslim state. Being close to Thai border, Sengai Kolok one can observe varied cultural activities and life style from other parts of Malaysia. The unique specialty of this place is Sangkhat, a cloth intertwined with gold and silver threads. Nasi berlauk, Nasi Dagang and nasi kerabu are famous local cuisine of this place.
Kuantan – It is the state capital of Pahang. It is 185 km northwest of Kuala Lumpur, near the Kuantan River and faces the South China Sea. The focal tourist places are the beaches at Teluk Cempedak, Batu Hitam, Balok, Chenor, Pantai Sepat, Beserah, and Cherating. Sungai Pandan Water Fall, Sungai Berkelah Waterfall and the Jerangkang Waterfall are the three main wonderful waterfalls of this place. Well groomed Gelora Park, Teruntum Mini Zoo and Agriculture Park are also worth visiting. It is renowned for woodcarving and batiks handicraft items.
Penang- This place is known for its enthralling blend of the East and West. It grips modernity and at the same time preserves Malaysian ethnicity and old traditional charm. It is famous for its tropical beaches and scrumptious cuisine. Windsurfing could be enjoyed at the Batu Ferringhi Beach. George Town is the main historic architecture of the state. Amazing picturesque view of the city can be seen by taking the rail drive up through the Penang Hill in the middle of the intense tropical forests.
Langkawi- It is at 105 km north of Penang, spectacular cluster of approximately 100 islands having Malaysia’s best beaches namely Pantai Cenang, Pantai Tengah, Pantai Kok and Tanjung Rhu. All the beaches are mostly clean having plenty of trees all around. The magical beauty of Langkawi is simply awe-inspiring.
Pangkor Islands- This Island is 130 km south of Penang on the west coast of Malaysia. There are nine small islands surrounding this island. White sand beaches, crystal blue waters, canoeing, jungle treks, bright stars, delicious food, snorkeling, jet-skiing and tropical fruits makes this place the perfect destination for the family vacation.
